On May 26, 2010, Laurie invited members of the public to creatively decorate glass blocks for a fused glass quilt, as part of a larger undertaking called Animate the Streets.  Twelve people had fun manipulating the various fused glass materials that Laurie provided – precut glass, stringers, rod, noodles, beads, Vitrigraph, frit and confetti – and the resulting “Fun & Funky Flowers” blocks were fired and assembled using stained glass techniques to create a Fused Glass Quilt.  The final work was displayed at UpTown Gallery from July 16 to 13 September, and has been donated to KidsAbility, for use as a fundraiser in 2011.
